Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Even though this past Saturday fell on a three-day weekend to observe Veterans Day, 833 kids, 375 volunteers, 97 parents, and 28 teachers & staff together made our November 11th reading clubs a success!

In addition to giving away our 160,000th prize book, each child also took home something with a college logo to celebrate College Spirit Month!

196 volunteers showed their college spirit by wearing college logos from 64 different schools. You can see photos of a few of them in our Instagram feed, and below is a photo of our volunteers at MacArthur Park!

Next month is one of our biggest months of the year, and the December 9th reading clubs are just a few short weeks away!

DECEMBER 9TH READING CLUBS
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

Please be sure to sign up for the next reading clubs!   Click here to submit your RSVP for our "Winter & The Spirit of Giving" reading clubs on December 9th, then "join" the December 9th reading club event on Facebook and invite your friends!

Santas Needed!

Santa and an elf at Reading to Kids

At least once in your life you should experience being Santa or one of his helpers - and here is your chance!

We need eight people willing to be Santa, Mrs. Claus, or an assisting "elf" at our reading clubs on December 9th. We've had Santas of all shapes, sizes, and gender, and we'll provide the full Santa suit.

Santa or his helpers do NOT need to be veteran Reading to Kids volunteers, so please ask your friends if they can be Santa, Mrs. Claus, or an elf on the 9th!

There's nothing better than seeing the students' excitement when Santa visits our reading clubs! If you are interested in being Santa, Mrs. Claus, or an assisting "elf" on December 9th, please reply to this email. You won't be able to read that day, but you'll see hundreds of smiling faces!
