Dear Reading to Kids Friends,
Well, it's time for me to say farewell: this is my last e-mail as Program Director of Reading to Kids. I've been with this wonderful organization for two incredible, challenging years, and I'm so sad to say goodbye to all the talented and generous people I've met in my time here.
Reading to Kids wouldn't be what it is today without the energy and dedication of our thousands of readers, enthusiastic partner schools, participating kids, and community supporters. It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with you all. While it hasn't always been easy, it has always been rewarding. Reading to Kids makes Los Angeles feel like home to so many of us, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. And, while I'm unhappy to be leaving, I'm delighted to pass the reins to someone as amazing as our new Program Director, Karrah Lompa. If you haven't met Karrah yet, be prepared to be impressed!
Since I am headed to Boston in six short days(!), the Comedy Night and Silent Auction at the Improv this evening will be the last time I'll be able to see my Reading to Kids friends. I'd love to see all of you there if you are able to attend. You can still purchase tickets online until 4:30 today or come to the event tonight and pay at the door. I do hope to see you this evening.
So, without further ado: thanks for all of your energy, generosity, support, and friendship. Look me up when you're in Boston!
Yours,
Maryanna Abdo
