Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Reading to Kids Instagram photo

October starts next Wednesday, so we need you to join us and recruit another 49 readers for our biggest reading clubs of the year!

If you haven't already, please sign up today at readingtokids.org. Then join our October 11th Facebook Event so your friends will see you'll be attending our Halloween, Magic, and Monsters reading clubs.

Please also print out this flyer and post it in heavily populated locations such as coffee shops, the gym, your office or other various community centers. Make it a personal and fun social event by including the school at which you'll be reading.  You can also use this easy message template to reach out to your friends and co-workers.

October means we'll also have these magicians perform at the reading clubs!

We also encourage all volunteers to dress up in school-appropriate Halloween costumes!

MORE VOLUNTEER LEADERS
ALSO NEEDED OCT. 11TH

We also need experienced volunteers to step up by checking in volunteers as they arrive, helping train new and returning volunteers, being a GLC, or especially being a Site Operations Helper at any of our schools.

If you can help in any of those roles, please visit our home page at www.readingtokids.org and submit your email address in the yellow box, as usual!

Then, e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to tell us the above role you would like to take on to create wonderful reading clubs together!

FOUR MORE RUNNERS NEEDED
FOR THE 2026 LA MARATHON,
13.1 MILE CHARITY HALF MARATHON,
OR LA 5K!

Do you know any runners? Are you a runner? Please forward this email to them and ask them to join Team Reading to Kids in the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon or 13.1 Mile Charity Half Marathon on Sunday, March 8th!

Team Reading to Kids logo

This is our 12th time running the marathon, and we're looking for four more Charity Half Marathon runners (the last 13.1 miles of the course) and more full marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.

If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the LA 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 7th.

If you or a runner you know is interested in becoming one of our fundraising runners or creating a fundraising team, please email Chris Martin at marathon@readingtokids.org!

IMPORTANT NOTE: To register to run on behalf of Reading to Kids, you MUST receive from us a special web address to use when registering on the Los Angeles Marathon website.
