Welcome to the '20s! We hope your new year is off to a great start and that we'll see you at our
January 11th Mysteries & New Adventures reading clubs.
We still need 31 more volunteers to join the
today. Then, help spread the word by also replying to our
January 11th Facebook Event that you are going.
Volunteering with friends on January 11th is a
great way to celebrate the new decade!
(If you have signed up for the January reading clubs and you are
not able to make the voyage, please cancel
so that another traveler may hop on board.)
HELPER ROLES FOR JAN. 11TH
If you have read with us a few times recently, please e-mail us at
email@example.com if you can volunteer for any of the following roles:
GLC at Esperanza, Gratts, Politi, or White
Training Coordinator at any school (except Los Angeles or MacArthur Park)
- Check-in Helper at Alta Loma, Esperanza, Gratts, Politi, or White
Food Runner at Alta Loma
Bagel Runner (picking up from a shop in Santa Monica Friday, 1/10 at 2:20pm)
- Site Coordinator at any school!
GET A NEW COMPUTER OR TABLET?
DONATE YOUR OLD ONE TO A KID!
At our January 11th reading clubs we would love to give away a computer or iPad/tablet to one lucky kid at each school.
If you or your employer have any working computers that are less than 6 years old running Windows 8 or later, or any Macintosh computers less than 7 years old, or any iPads or similar tablets, we can give them to deserving kids!
We especially need working computers (CPUs), whether or not they come with monitors, keyboards, etc. Please email us at

CRAFTS & CURRICULUM MEETING
SUNDAY, JAN. 19TH AT 10AM
Are you crafty? On January 19th, join the
Curriculum Committee at 10:00am in the Reading to Kids office to help create the activity and craft guides for the February books!
ANNUAL FUND DRIVE SUCCESS!
Thanks to the support of so many of you, our 2019 Annual Fund Drive was a huge success, with 577 donors helping us raise $63,848 - our most successful Annual Fund Drive ever!
We still expect a few more checks in the mail and corporate matching donations, so we may still reach 600 donors!
Our very special thanks go out to our five
School Competition Winners!

Highest overall percentage of volunteers who donated to the Annual Fund Drive:
1st: White Elementary!
2nd: Esperanza Elementary (only 2% behind White!)
3rd: MacArthur Park Elementary
