Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
What a fantastic time we had last Saturday!
That morning, 321 kids, 201 volunteers,
45 parents, and 23 teachers & staff
helped to make our May 10th reading clubs another success!

Reading to Kids also turned 26 years old last Saturday! Our first reading clubs were held at Gratts Elementary in May 1999, and thanks to volunteers like you we have since given away more than 289,000 books!

Legendary Bingo at
Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood!
The drinks are strong, the drag queen bingo is "R" rated,
and seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your seat in advance! All attendees must be 18 years old or older.

"Friendship & Fun" clubs!
Our summer reading clubs will be smaller, so sign up early for June 14th
and mark your calendars for July 12th and August 9th. Let's keep students reading throughout the summer!
Note about White Elementary: Charles White Elementary may be closed the weekend of June 14th, so for now we have closed the RSVPs for that school.
For our June 14th reading clubs
we encourage you to volunteer at any of Reading to Kids'
other 7 schools! For a map of all of our school sites,
click here.
We will email all recent Charles White Elementary volunteers if we get to re-open the RSVPs for the June 14th clubs.
SCHOOL AMBASSADORS WANTED 6/9 & 6/10,
LAST TWO DAYS OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!
The school year ends on June 10th, the Tuesday before our June 14th reading clubs. Thus, Monday, June 9th & Tuesday, June 10th we need ambassadors to visit any of our schools for an hour during the school day to encourage kids to come to the June 14th reading clubs.

OFFICE HELPERS AND INTERNS NEEDED
Looking for a new way to get involved with Reading to Kids? Want to add volunteer office help to your resume? We currently are looking for a few good
interns and volunteers to help us in the office on weekdays on a regular basis.
There are tons of things that need to be done in the office for every reading club, as well as general office work. If you or someone you trust is interested and available during weekdays, please

HELP US FIND GRANTS!
Did you know Reading to Kids receives about
half of our funding from corporate and foundation
grants? For example, over the last five years alone
seven of our volunteers helped us receive $142,000 in
grants from their employers!
Please check to see if your employer offers grants
that Reading to Kids can apply to and let us know at
info@readingtokids.org!
You may help us buy thousands of books for kids!

3 COMPUTERS OR TABLETS
WANTED FOR JUNE
At our June reading clubs we would love to give away a computer or iPad/tablet to one lucky kid at each school, but we need three more of them to make that happen!
If you or your employer have any working computers that are less than 6 years old running Windows 10 or later, or any Macintosh computers less than 7 years old, or any iPads or similar tablets, we can give them to deserving kids!
We especially need working computers (CPUs), whether or not they come with monitors, keyboards, etc. Please email us at
