Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
NEW BANANA WORLD RECORD!
HELP OUR MARATHON RUNNERS
REACH THEIR FUNDRAISING GOAL!

Last weekend Team Reading to Kids collectively ran 306 miles at the 2025 Los Angeles
Marathon and LA 5K! Just imagine how many miles they ran in training!
Runner Kimberly Morris was very successful in also setting a (soon to be official) Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon run by a woman dressed as a banana! She finished in 3 hours, 33 minutes, beating the previous record by 25 minutes!
Head over towards the bottom of their website and scroll down to see a slideshow of our runners before, during, and after the marathon. We guarantee you will be delighted by one of the last two slides!
Team Reading to Kids has now raised $13,979, and while their bodies recover, you can still donate to their fundraising pages to help them reach their $20,000 goal to support Reading to Kids!

We also thank our five water station volunteers who helped set up and run Water Station Mile 9 at 5am to hydrate thousands of runners all morning long!

We were able to open more volunteer spots for our "People & Places Around the World" clubs on April 12th, so head over to

These April 12th reading clubs will be much smaller because the schools will be on their Spring break, so
be sure to sign up now!

3 COMPUTERS OR TABLETS WANTED
TO GIVE TO KIDS!
At our April reading clubs we would love to give away a computer or iPad/tablet to one lucky kid at each school.
If you or your employer have any working computers that are less than 6 years old running Windows 10 or later, or any Macintosh computers less than 7 years old, or any iPads or similar tablets, we can give them to deserving kids!
We especially need working computers (CPUs), whether or not they come with monitors, keyboards, etc. Please email us at

BINGO PRIZE & AUCTION ITEMS
Our next Legendary Bingo fundraisers at
Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood will be on May 21st and in the fall, so we need your help gathering prizes for auctions and bingo winners!
To help you get started, here is information about Reading to Kids to share with potential donors, as well as a donation form for them to complete.
We especially enjoy awarding gift certificates,
amusement park and theater tickets, gift bags, and
autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!
If you work at or have a connection with products or services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation to our events.
