Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

We need 21 more readers (15 at Los Angeles Elementary) for this Saturday's reading clubs. To volunteer, visit our website TODAY and sign up!

We can also use our more experienced volunteers to help train new volunteers, as a GLC, or as a Site Coordinator, so please email us at info@readingtokids.org if you can help in any of those roles.

Please also help recruit more volunteers by joining our March 11th Facebook event. You can then invite your Facebook friends to the celebration, too.

On Saturday we'll have very talented musicians performing. Click here to find out who will be performing at your school!

If you're signed up but can't join us, please click here to cancel before 2pm Friday so someone else may take your place.

SUPPORT AND CHEER ON OUR
MARATHON RUNNERS!

Team Reading to Kids 2017 Skechers Performance LA Marathon Team Reading to Kids 2017 Skechers Performance LA Marathon

Team Reading to Kids has just 12 more days until March 19th to reach their $13,600 fundraising goal! Please donate a buck a mile as they prepare for the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon!

So far, our runners have raised $12,237 in support of our monthly reading clubs. Your donation will make all their months and miles of training pay off in books for the kids we serve!

You can also cheer them on during the marathon on Sunday, March 19th, at our course support booth located at San Vicente Blvd. and 17th St. from 8:30am - 1:30pm.

MENTOR AT-RISK YOUTH WITH
THE YOUTH POLICY INSTITUTE

Youth Policy Institute Mentor flyer

The Youth Policy Institute (YPI) is looking for mentors, and our volunteers would be a great fit! YPI's mission is to transform Los Angeles neighborhoods using a holistic approach to reduce poverty. They are looking for volunteers to commit to a 6 month mentoring program to engage and make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth between the ages of 16-24. Click the flyer above for more information.

Interested in another way of making a big difference in someone's life? Contact YPI Mentor Coordinator Leah Hirst at 323-978-1027 or e-mail her at ysedvolunteers@ypiusa.org.
