Please also help recruit another 87 volunteers by joining our January 14th Facebook Event, tweeting @readingtokids, emailing friends, or any other creative ways you have in mind. Volunteering with friends on January 14th is a great way to celebrate the new year!

Thanks to the support of so many of you, our 2016 Annual Fund Drive was a rousing success, with 543 donors helping us raise $55,975! We still expect a few more checks in the mail, so we may top $57,000!

Our very special thanks go out to our four fundraising Angels, Taskforce members Matthew Jones (28 donors, $2,762), Mark May (14 donors, $6,025), and Patrick White (4 donors, $565), as well as volunteer Kosha Patel (23 donors, $591). Together they raised $9,943 from 69 donors!

Finally, we extend our sincere thanks to all of the AFD Speakers and credit card swipers who helped raise these much-needed funds over the last three reading clubs!

This Sunday, January 8, join the Curriculum Committee at Noon in the Reading to Kids office to help create the activity and craft guides for the January books!

Are you a runner? Do you know any runners? Please forward this email to them and ask them to join Team Reading to Kids in the 2017 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, March 19th!

We urgently need five more runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country. You can share this Facebook group with any of your runner friends to encourage them to join our team!

Runners can run either the full marathon or a half-marathon, and the dollars raised will go to support our monthly reading clubs.
