Reading to Kids News
March 5, 2015

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

With one week until our reading clubs, all volunteer spots are currently full. Please check our website for openings next week if you'd like to join us for "Music & Celebrations"! If you need to cancel your RSVP, click here.

Join us tomorrow at Los Angeles Elementary, where we will be reading aloud to students for Read Across America, a week of national reading events in commemoration of Dr. Seuss. KTLA 5's Gayle Anderson will be there spotlighting Team Reading to Kids on the morning news.

Next week between 7:30am and 2:30pm we need your help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs to encourage kids to come to our March 14th reading clubs.

This can be a lot of fun, and we'll provide everything you need. Please e-mail inforeadingtokids.org or call (310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador.

On Saturday, March 21, from 10am - 2pm, Friends of the Family presents their annual Festival of Readers at LA Mission College in Sylmar - and they would like our volunteers to read aloud to attending children!

Throughout the morning you'll read aloud to small groups of kids, then lead them in brief crafts projects (30 minute versions of our reading clubs). We'll supply the read-aloud books, craft ideas, and supplies, they just need enthusiastic volunteer readers to read aloud.

To volunteer, contact Carrie Core, Festival of Readers Coordinator, at carrie@fofca.org or (510) 825-5205.

Thanks, and don't forget to watch the morning news for some familiar faces!
