Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

We had such large September reading clubs that we now expect even more kids for our "Halloween, Mysteries, and Magic" clubs on October 12th! We need all hands on deck to help us recruit another 352 volunteers over the next two weeks.

If you haven't already, please join our October 12th Facebook Event. It really helps us when you do that because your friends can see you're attending the reading clubs, and you can help spread the word by inviting them to join, too. After you join, don't forget to go to our website and sign up with us.

Please also do your part by reaching out to all your other social media contacts, as well as printing out this flyer and posting it at your work, school, church, synagogue, mosque, or favorite community bulletin board.

For added fun, at the October 12th reading clubs you are encouraged to wear fun, school-appropriate Halloween costumes!

At our magicians page we have begun posting the magical people who will entertain the children at our October 12th "Halloween, Mysteries and Magic" reading clubs.

We still need at least two more magicians, so if you or someone you know possesses the powers of magic and illusion, please contact us.

Would your co-workers love to join you at the reading clubs? Is your campus group looking for a fun volunteer opportunity? Does your alumni organization need an event to attend together? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, it is time to sign them up for Reading to Kids!

Reading to Kids Volunteer Groups recruit volunteers for the reading clubs. In addition to a fantastic volunteer experience, groups who regularly recruit and bring volunteers are thanked on our website as "Friends & Supporters." For examples, check out UM Local Action (5 volunteers signed up for October), Westside Cal Alumni Club (3 volunteers signed up for October), and UCLA Circle K (5 volunteers signed up for October).

If you have a connection with a business, alumni association, campus group, or other organization whose members might enjoy volunteering with Reading to Kids, start recruiting now!

To sign up your group with Reading to Kids, e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org or call (310) 479-7455, and we'll get your group started!

Reading to Kids is the proud recipient of a $6,000 grant awarded by the ILFC (International Lease Finance Corporation) Philanthropic Committee in support of our reading clubs. We also thank Taskforce Member and Magnolia Site Coordinator Andrea Parilo for helping to secure this grant.

ILFC's support enables us to continue to inspire the love of reading in children and create meaningful volunteering opportunities in Los Angeles!

Thanks in advance for helping us find more volunteers for these next reading clubs!
