TWO "ROAMING READERS" NEEDED AT TENTH ST.
THIS SATURDAY MORNING!
We have such a great relationship with our partner schools that at these reading clubs we have an exciting opportunity for two of our experienced volunteers to bring your joy of reading to more kids!
During Saturday's reading clubs, Tenth St. Elem. is also holding Saturday School (Saturday Intervention) for students who need additional academic help. The principal wants us to bring Reading to Kids to these students, too, and we need two more experienced volunteers to help make that happen!
We are invited to read to those Saturday School students for 40 minutes in each Saturday School classroom. Our Saturday School "roaming readers" probably won't do crafts with the kids, but will instead "roam" to two classrooms to read aloud one of this month's books, then give each kid their own prize book, as we usually do. Their teacher will remain in the classroom, too.
Since this Saturday morning is also the first day of Spring Break for the kids, roaming readers will probably get to read to more kids than we expect at the "regular" reading clubs that morning! This is also a great way to read to kids who probably don't come to our reading clubs!
E-mail us at info@readingtokids.org if you are an experienced volunteer with us and can be a Roaming Reader this Saturday morning! If you are already signed up at a different school, we'll even happily move you from your current school to Tenth St. Elem.!
FOUR MORE LEADERS WANTED:
GLC, TRAINING COORDINATORS,
AND SITE OPERATIONS HELPERS
This Saturday is the perfect time for those who have volunteered with us a few times recently to step into and learn any of our important Operations roles - all training very pleasantly provided!
Please e-mail us at
info@readingtokids.org if you can volunteer for any of the following roles:
- GLC at Gratts (1st grade)
- Training Coordinator at Mac. Park or Politi
- Site Operations Helpers at any school - your Site Coordinators need your help!
If your school is full and you are an experienced volunteer with us, let us know if you can fill any of the above roles and we'll happily add in your RSVP.

READING TO KIDS AMBASSADORS
WANTED THIS AFTERNOON
OR TOMORROW!
Since Saturday's reading clubs fall on the first day of the kids' Spring Break, it is especially important we remind the kids to join us this Saturday morning!
Thus, this afternoon or tomorrow for an hour or two between 7:30am and 2:30pm, we need your
help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs and/or passing out flyers to encourage kids to come to
Saturday's reading clubs.
We are especially looking for volunteers available from about 1:15 - 2:45 today, or volunteers who can pass out flyers to parents tomorrow at 7am or when school lets out at around 12:30pm.
It's an exciting experience and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to
info@readingtokids.org or call the office at
(310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador for an hour or two next week!

THANK YOU TO
THE ALBERTSONS COMPANIES FOUNDATION
Please join us in thanking
The Albertsons Companies Foundation for their most recent $2,500 grant supporting Reading to Kids, our sixth donation from them in the last eight years!
Volunteers Prince Selvage III and Joe Morchy made these grants possible by sponsoring us through their employer.
These grant funds will go towards purchasing the hundreds of books we donate to our eight partner schools' libraries each year, and to the thousands of books we give to participating kids the second Saturday of each month!
