We are just days away from our
November 9th "Seasons & the Natural World" reading
clubs, so please help us recruit the 68 more readers
we need that morning!
Start by
signing up today! Next, join our
November 9th Facebook Event and
share with your friends!
Please also email and post on your Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/ etc. that we need more volunteers. Be sure to tell your friends and family:
1) The reading clubs are the morning of November 9th near Downtown LA
2) Volunteers must sign up online at
www.readingtokids.org
3) The school at which you will be reading
4) Encourage them to wear their college's logo to inspire the kids to college!
HELPER ROLES FOR NOV. 9TH
If you have read with us a few times recently, please e-mail us at
info@readingtokids.org if you can volunteer for any of the following roles:

GLC at Alta Loma, Esperanza, Gratts, Magnolia, Politi, or White
-
Training Coordinator at any school (except Gratts or Politi)
- Check-in Helper at Los Angeles or Politi

Bagel Runner at Alta Loma
- Site Coordinator at any school!
November 9th is also College Spirit Day,
so be sure to rep your college proudly! We'll be
tallying the number of volunteers sporting their college
logo that morning and announcing the winner the following
week!
If you're
signed up for the Nov. 9th reading clubs but know you can't make it
after all, please be sure to
cancel your RSVP as soon as you can.

HELP! OPERATIONS VOLUNTEERS WANTED
Each month we need experienced volunteers to
help train volunteers, be a GLC, or especially to be a second or third Site Coordinator
at any of our schools.

READING TO KIDS AMBASSADORS
NEEDED NEXT WEEK!
Next week for an hour or two between 7:30am and 5pm we need your
help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs or handing out flyers to encourage kids
to come to our November 9th reading clubs.
This can be a lot of fun and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to
info@readingtokids.org or call the office at
(310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador!

RUNNERS NEEDED FOR MARATHON,
1/2 MARATHON, OR 5 K!
Do you know any runners? Are you a
runner? Please forward this email to them
and ask them to join
Team Reading to Kids in the 2020 Los
Angeles Marathon on Sunday,
March 8th!
We're looking for three more full marathon runners and five more Charity Challenge runners (the last 13 miles of the course) to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.
If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the Big 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
You can
share this Facebook group with any of your runner
friends to encourage them to join our team!

2019 ANNUAL FUND DRIVE UPDATE!
The
2019 Annual Fund Drive is going strong with
$11,421 donated from 149 donors!
Our Annual Fund Drive lasts until December 31st, and our ambitious goal this year is to raise $60,000 from 600 donors. Please help us meet that goal by spreading the word to your friends and co-workers!
Those who have donated can see their names listed on our
2019 Annual Fund Drive page.
How Can You Help?
1) Make a pledge to donate by check or
online. Contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated!
2) Show your support by asking friends and family to
contribute!

page and look under the "Help us Fundraise!"
header for resources, including information on creating your own
personalized fundraising page on Facebook, our handy
donor sheet for raising money with your friends and
co-workers,
tips for fundraising, and so much more.
Once they know about Reading to Kids, many of your
friends and family will want to donate -
we just need you to ask!
Also, if your workplace matches donations to nonprofits, please share
with them your donation and ask them to consider matching it. In this way you
double your donation and share with others your enthusiasm
for Reading to Kids!
