Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Happy 2018! We hope your new year is off to a great start and that we'll see you at our
January 13th Mysteries & Adventure reading clubs.
We still need 132 more volunteers to join the
expedition, so
sign up
today. Then, help spread the word by also replying to our
January 13th Facebook Event that you are going. Volunteering with friends on January 13th is a
great way to celebrate the new year!
(If you have signed up and can't make it,
please cancel to make room for another volunteer.)
Note about MacArthur Park: For the weekend of
January 13th, MacArthur Park Elementary is closed while the campus is
being painted.
For our January 13th reading clubs,
we encourage you to volunteer at any of Reading to Kids'
other 7 schools! For a map of all of our school sites,
Our reading clubs will return to MacArthur Park Elementary
on Saturday, Feb. 10th, so mark your
calendars!
BE A READING TO KIDS AMBASSADOR!
Next week for an hour or two between 7:30am and 2:30pm, we need your
help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs to encourage kids to come to
our January 13th reading clubs.
If you have volunteered with us before, please reply to info@readingtokids.org or call the office
at (310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador!

GET A NEW COMPUTER OR TABLET? DONATE YOUR OLD ONE TO A KID!
At the January 13th reading clubs we would love to give away a computer or iPad to one lucky kid at each school.
If you or your employer have any working computers that are less than 6 years old running Windows 7 or later, or any Macintosh computers less than 7 years old, or any iPads or similar tablets, we can give them to deserving kids!
We especially need working computers (CPUs), whether or not they come with monitors, keyboards, etc. Please email us at
info@readingtokids.org for details.
