Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

We had so many kids come to "Faraway Places" at the reading clubs this Saturday that we almost set a new September record! A whopping 1,168 kids, 383 volunteers, 215 parents, and 25 teachers & staff participated last Saturday. We loved seeing old familiar volunteer faces we haven't seen in a while, and we really enjoyed giving away thousands of school supplies to the kids in attendance.

On Saturday, October 13th we expect to have even bigger clubs with even more kids! Please click here to sign up, and encourage a friend or two to volunteer with you, as we explore "Halloween, Mysteries, and Magic." This is always one of our most popular reading clubs of the year.

BUY YOUR OCTOBER 2ND COMEDY NIGHT TICKETS

Today is a great day to buy your tickets for our 2012 Benefit Comedy Night and Silent Auction at the Hollywood Improv on Tuesday, October 2nd.

We now have a host - comedian and Reading to Kids volunteer Chris Millhouse - and we will soon have even more great comedy talent added to the lineup. The Special Events Committee continues to also gather items for the Silent Auction.

At the above webpage, tickets are on sale for $35 (+ $4 service charge), and in addition to a hilarious night of entertainment, dinner in the showroom is included in the ticket price! The Silent Auction will open at 6:00pm, with dinner service starting at 6:30pm, and showtime starting at 7:45pm. The show ends at 9:30pm.

You know you'll have a good time while doing a great deed, and bring your friends, too!

HELP PROMOTE COMEDY NIGHT

Yesterday we posted on Facebook a "Reading to Kids Comedy Night and Silent Auction" event, and it would really help if you replied to it that you are going.

(You have bought your tickets, right?)

When you reply to our Facebook event, please also use the "Invite Friends" button in the upper right, or click on the gear icon and choose "Share Event", and help us publicize this fun and important and fundraiser.

If you can't join us for Comedy Night, please still share the above event with your Facebook friends and encourage them to go and tell you all about it. Every ticket you help us sell furthers our cause!
