Reading to Kids News
October 27, 2011

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

The days are shorter, the air is cooler, and this weekend ghosts and goblins of all ages will come out to play. A couple of weeks ago we celebrated the spooky season by reading books about monsters, magic, and mysterious meanderings. This is a celebration that never ends because these books, like all the books we read aloud, are donated to the libraries at our seven partner schools.

Since 1999, we have donated over 17,850 beautiful hardcover books to these libraries, giving thousands of children the chance to discover again and again whether George is still curious, or if the sky will fall on Chicken Little.

Although Los Angeles public school libraries contend with devastating budget cuts every day, you can help make a difference. A donation to our Annual Fund Drive will enable us to continue to purchase these much needed books, that we know will inspire children with a love of reading to last a lifetime.
