Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
The College Spirit Day Reading Clubs are just 3 weeks away! Do you know where your old college sweatshirt is? Have you told your roommates about the event and recruited them to join you? We can't wait to see which school brings the most spirit on November 14th! If you would like to organize a group from your university or alumni group, please call our office today at (310) 479-7455.

Annual Fund Drive Weekend Challenge
Mission: Possible
This morning a phone call was received from an anonymous Reading to Kids volunteer. He issued a challenge. The mission, if we are willing to accept it, is as follows:
If Reading to Kids is able to generate 25 new donors OR raise $500 dollars this weekend, this donor will donate an additional $500 to the Annual Fund Drive.
The challenge guidelines are:
- All online donations must be made between Friday, October 23 at 12:01 AM and Sunday, October 25 at 11:59 PM. Online donations can be made through Google Checkout or Facebook Causes.
- All checks must be dated no later than Monday, October 26. Please fill out this form and mail to the Reading to Kids' office (address on form).
For more information on our fundraising goals or how to donate visit the 2009 Annual Fund Drive webpage.
Reading to Kids has accepted this challenge because we know it can be achieved! A special Annual Fund Drive Challenge E-mail will be sent out next week with the results. Good Luck!

Volunteer in the Classroom
Every month, teachers at our 8 participating schools encourage their students to attend the reading clubs. Their enthusiasm and love of our program is seen every second Saturday when their students rush onto the playground, excited and ready for another club!
We like to thank their dedication by rewarding the highest recruiting teacher with a classroom helper each month. If you are interested in spending your day with the kids and one very lucky teacher, please email Rachel at:
