October 16, 2008

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

On October 11th, we welcomed 1,440 children, 511 volunteers, and 338 parents to our our "Halloween, Mysteries & Magic" reading clubs.  This month we broke the record for number of volunteers AND number of parents at the reading clubs, and we had the second largest student attendance in Reading to Kids history!  Thanks to all of our volunteer readers who helped make this month a success!

special thanks to our volunteer magicians, especially Raul Fernandez for helping to coordinate the magicians at each school!

BE PART OF OUR STORY -
MAKE A DONATION TODAY

Thank you to everyone who has made a contribution during Reading to Kids' 2008 Annual Fund Drive.  Your support will help us continue to inspire underserved children with a love of reading - a great investment!

As we continue to bring our reading clubs to more kids and look to expanding the program to new schools, we are asking for your help!  Please let your friends and family know how they can make a huge difference in the community, and please consider making your own donation to Reading to Kids.  A contribution of any amount can make an impact.

Just $5 can provide 4 books for kids to take home at the reading clubs, $50 can provide four hardcover read aloud books donated to our partner schools' libraries, and $500 can cover the cost of one year's worth of books for parents at one school.

For more information, please visit our Annual Fund Drive page at http://readingtokids.org/News/2008AnnualFundDrive.html or contact Jessica Tritsch at Jessica.Tritsch@readingtokids.org.
