Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
With less than a week to go, we still need 117 more volunteers for the September 13th Reading Clubs! Click here to sign up.
The September reading clubs have a "Fantasy, Folklore, and Fairy Tales" theme and we've got fun books for all grades!
Second graders will travel to New York City to see what happened when the dish ran away with the spoon in Mini Grey's The Adventures of the Dish and the Spoon.
Fourth graders will be magically transported to the Cretaceous period to visit a Pteranodon. They'll escape a Tyrannosaurus and even learn a bit about dinosaurs along the way in Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope Osborne.
Fifth graders will meet the fun Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, who has some very silly common-sense solutions to many of their every day problems in Betty MacDonald's Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle.

TRAINING COORDINATORS NEEDED
Are you looking to get more involved? Here's a perfect opportunity! Reading to Kids is looking for Training Coordinators for Alta Loma, Esperanza, Gratts, Politi, and White Elementary Schools.
Each school has two Training Coordinators who are responsible for facilitating the New Volunteer Training with a teacher or administrator from the school and for leading the Returning Volunteer Training. Training Coordinators serve as readers that morning as well.
For more information about being a Training Coordinator, please click here to browse through our Training Coordinator Manual.
If you are interested in getting more involved with the operations of Reading to Kids as a Training Coordinator, Site Coordinator or Grade Level Coordinator, please contact Rachel Zwass at Rachel.Zwass@readingtokids.org or (310) 479-7455.

SECOND PROGRAM COORDINATOR POSITION AVAILABLE
Reading to Kids has decided to hire a second Program Coordinator! As we have grown to eight schools, it has become clear that we will need more than just two employees if we want to continue our expansion.
As one of three paid employees of the agency, the Program Coordinator will have an exceptional opportunity to work with a grassroots nonprofit organization. This position offers the opportunity to help direct the grown of Reading to Kids and to bring the joy of reading to many more children in Los Angeles.
