Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Thanks to everyone who volunteered with Reading to Kids at the Festival of Books last weekend!  Our volunteers signed up over 300 new volunteers, handed out over 2,500 bookmarks and brochures, and introduced Reading to Kids to hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees.

VOLUNTEER AT BIG SUNDAY!

Join Reading to Kids volunteers at BIG SUNDAY, L.A.'s Annual Day of Service.  Volunteers from all over Los Angeles will help out at more than 200 community sites all over the city on Saturday, May 3rd, and Sunday, May 4th.  Click here for more information on BIG SUNDAY events and to sign up.

The project at Los Angeles Elementary School (Project #195) has filled to capactity, but they still need over 30 volunteers at the Magnolia Elementary project!

Have a Day of Blooming Together at the Great Magnolia Street School (Project #242)
Date: Sunday, May 4th
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
Details: Volunteers will be planting a garden in front of the school, decorating and delivering flower pots to local seniors with Alzheimer's Disease, making cards and bookmarks, and more! There will also be good food and live music!

MAY 10th READING CLUBS

Sign up today for the May 10th "Family and Culture" Reading Clubs.  

We are hosting our first reading clubs at Alta Loma Elementary and are expecting big turnout at all schools, so please join us for a morning of reading fun! We still need over 300 volunteers, so make sure to invite a friend!  Click here to sign up.
