Weekly News Update
February 14, 2008

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Many thanks to the 418 volunteers who came to the February reading clubs to read to 1,165 kids!

Special thanks to everyone who helped out as a Site Coordinator, Grade Level Coordinator, Training Coordinator, or Food runner for helping things run so smoothly!

We are always looking for more people to help out with the operations of the reading clubs. Click here to learn more about these special volunteer roles.

MARCH 8TH "MUSIC" READING CLUBS

The theme for our March 8th reading clubs is "Music," and we need your help to bring the theme to life!

We have an exciting selection of books for March, with lots of fun possibilities for musical crafts and interactive activities.  Click here to sign up and click here to see the list of books and craft ideas!

We are also looking for groups of musicians to perform a quick show during the close of the reading clubs!  Contact Sarah.Kolterman@readingtokids.org if you have a group that would be able and willing to play.

PROMOTE READING TO KIDS ONLINE

Each month, Reading to Kids recruits 100 to 200 new volunteers to the reading clubs!  We are always looking for new and better ways to reach out to the Los Angeles community and let folks know about our volunteer opportunities.

One way we get the word out about our program is to post our volunteer opportunities online.  Reading to Kids has posted our organization on Los Angeles Citysearch, Yelp, and a new site, greatnonprofits.org, and we need your help!  These sites all thrive on reviews from the public.  If you have something to say, please take a moment to post a review to one of the sites:
