Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
The holiday season is upon us and our December 8th Reading Clubs are fast approaching!
Our "Holiday" reading clubs are our biggest each year, and with 7 schools we'll need over 500 volunteers this year! The reading clubs will feature a visit from Santa, a holiday raffle for the kids, and fun holiday books and crafts.

DECEMBER BOOKS
Our Curriculum Committee has been hard at work coming up with discussion topics and craft ideas for all of the holiday-themed books. We have a great lineup of books for the December reading clubs.
-First graders will help Mister Frog stay awake for this year's Christmas celebration in Four Friends at Christmas by Tomie dePaola.
-Second graders will follow the Grinch into Whoville as he tries to ruin Christmas in How the Grinch Stole Christmasby Dr. Suess.
-Fifth graders will hear the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carolby Charles Dickens.

GREAT URBAN RACE
Reading to Kids is teaming up with Great Urban Race Los Angeles for a day of fun THIS SUNDAY!
Great Urban Race is a scavenger hunt, road race, and wandering party. Teams of two run, walk, and use public transportation while navigating city streets and completing fun clues and challenges. And this year, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Reading to Kids.
Join Reading to Kids volunteers for this fun event!
