Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Welcome back from the holiday weekend!
It is time to start your plans for next weekend! We still need 197 volunteers to make the September 8th Reading Clubs a success! Click here to sign up!
Please RSVP if you can make it to the reading clubs this month. In addition, if you have friends who may be interested in volunteering, please encourage them to sign up as well! Click here for a sample e-mail to send out to friends.
"FANTASY, FOLKLORE, & FAIRY TALES" THEMED READING CLUBS
The theme for this month's reading clubs is "Fantasy, Folklore, and Fairytales." Thanks again to Gratts Elementary staff for helping to pick out our September books! Take a peek at what you and the students will be reading on Saturday:
Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen (Kindergarten). Find out what happens when a lion shows up for storytime at the library--and how this unexpected guest saves the day.
Frog and Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel (2nd grade). The dynamic duo is back with five short tales! Join Frog and Toad on their search for a lost button and their adventures with snail mail.
Day of the Dragon King by Mary Pope Osborn (5th grade). Jack and Annie travel back two thousand years through the magic treehouse and find themselves in ancient China where they must find the original copy of an old legend before the Imperial Library is burned down by the evil Dragon King!
