This month's Reading Clubs are currently filled to capacity! Thanks to everyone who has signed up!

We anticipate cancellations between now and Friday, so if you would like to volunteer this Satuday, I encourage you to keep checking the website before our sign up deadline (3PM Friday) to see if spaces have opened up: click here to see if there are spaces available.

Further, if you have RSVP'd for the clubs on this Saturday, February 11th and you don't think you can make it, please cancel as soon as you can so that other volunteers can sign up in your place.

Tribute to Helga Hung Saturday

Reading to Kids volunteers will be honoring Helga Hung this Saturday at El Cholo after the reading clubs from 12:30-2:00 PM. Please join us (whether you are a reader Saturday or not) in celebrating Helga's life by sharing memories and stories. Helga's sisters, Fannie and Judy will also be joining us for the tribute! If you can't make it on Saturday, please feel free to e-mail me a story to be shared at El Cholo.

Thanks to all of you who have called or e-mailed us with words of condolences for Helga's family. As we informed you in previous updates, our dear friend Helga died in a car accident on her way home from the reading clubs in January. Annual Taskforce Gathering

Please join us on February 13, 2006 for our Annual Taskforce Potluck, Meeting, and Open House! This will be a great opportunity to learn about the Reading to Kids Taskforce if you are interested in getting more involved with the management of Reading to Kids.

We'll have a social hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and our annual meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

We will be meeting in the faculty cafeteria of L.A. High School. The cafeteria is located on the Northeast corner of campus (West Blvd. and Olympic). You can park on the blacktop or in the parking lot (enter from Rimpau Blvd.).
