Thanks to all of you who have called or e-mailed us with words of condolences for Helga Hung's family. As we informed you last week, our dear friend Helga died in a car accident on her way home from the reading clubs in January. Helga's younger sisters Fannie and Judy are deeply appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from the Reading to Kids community. New Program Director!

In the midst of the sad news about Helga last week, we do have some good news to report. On Tuesday, January 17th, Reading to Kids welcomed Jessica Tritsch on board as our new Program Director. Jessica comes to us from STAR Education, where she was working as a Development Officer. Prior to her work at STAR, she was the Organizing Director of CALPIRG, working closely with students on eight college campuses across California. Needless to say, her fundraising and volunteer recruitment skills fit perfectly with what we do at Reading to Kids. Welcome Jessica!
