Weekly News Update!
November 9, 2004

Hello everyone!

This month's Reading Clubs are filled to capacity! Thanks to the hard work of the Alpha Phi Omega chapters from the Southern California region, in particular from USC, we filled up all the Reading Clubs early this month!

However, we still want to make sure interested volunteers get a chance to read in November, so I encourage you to check back at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and at 9:00 a.m. on Friday on the RSVP page to see if spaces have opened up: click here to access the RSVP page.

Further, if you have RSVPed for the clubs on this Saturday, November 13th and you don't think you can make it, please cancel as soon as you can so that other volunteers can sign up in your place. Click here to cancel your RSVP.

Last Day for Fundraising!

Saturday, November 13th is our last day to fundraise for the 2004 Annual Fund Drive! If you've been keeping track of our progress, you know that we've already achieved our ambitious financial goal. However, we're still scores of donations away from reaching our goal of 300 donors!

Please consider donating to Reading to Kids today to help us reach this goal and make 2004's Fund Drive our most successful yet!

Donating is easy. Simply make your check out to Reading to Kids and bring it to the November Reading Clubs or mail it to our office:

   Reading to Kids
   1600 Sawtelle Boulevard, Suite 210
   Los Angeles, CA 90025

If you prefer to donate by credit card, you may do so at http://readingtokids.org/Donations/index.html. Please note that we prefer checks because our credit card processing company deducts a 3% fee from your donations.

You can check on the progress of the Annual Fund Drive by clicking here to see our list of donors!

Wear Your College Gear!

This Saturday marks the Second Annual College Spirit Day for Reading to Kids. Not to be defeated two years in a row, USC fans have signed up for the Reading Club in droves. Can UCLA fans keep them back another year? Will Stanford fans cause an upset?

Our partners at the schools are enthusiastic about a College Spirit Day because it encourages the kids to start thinking about college at a young age.

You can wear your blue, your cardinal, or your gold -- but just make sure you wear your smile to this Saturday's College Spirit Showdown. The kids love to see our volunteers decked out in their alma mater finest, so come dressed for a face-off!

Thanks for your amazing support!

Best,
