More than 2,100 people receive our weekly e-mails, and we'd love to involve you -- our outstanding volunteers and community supporters -- in our fundraising this year! Please click here to see a list of this year's donors (the list is still in progress but should be up to date by early next week).

Last year, Reading to Kids involved 250 individual donors during the Annual Fund Drive. This year, while we've already raised an impressive $14,000, we've only received 130 donations to date -- and we're aiming for 300!

Your support of Reading to Kids has never been more important! While we are delighted that our donors have been so generous thus far, the most important thing is increasing the number of people who are donating to Reading to Kids:

   1999: 29 donors
   2000: 52 donors
   2001: 91 donors
   2002: 147 donors
   2003: 250 donors
   2004: 130 donors (to date)

A large number of donors obviously means more money into the program, but it also indicates broad support that is favorably viewed by potential funders. Your donation, whatever the size, MATTERS! If you gave to Reading to Kids last year, please consider joining us again this year to make this Annual Fund Drive the most successful yet!

College Spirit Day in November!

November presents a great roster of Thanksgiving-themed stories, but also marks our Second Annual College Spirit Day! Last year, UCLA fans showed up in droves to deliver a crushing defeat to rival USC in the College Spirit Day competition! Will the Trojans win it this time out? Getty Hike!

Come join us this Sunday for an R2K hike and enjoy beautiful views from the Getty Center Museum to the Pacific Ocean.

   DATE: Sunday, October 24
   TIME: 9:30 am
   DISTANCE: 3 miles
   LENGTH: 2 Hours

DIRECTIONS: Heading northbound from LA on the San Diego freeway/interstate 405, take the Getty Center Drive exit. Turn Left (North) 0.1 mile to the trailhead parking lot on the right, just before crossing under the freeway.
Heading southbound from the San Fernando Valley on the San Diego Freeway/ 405 take the Getty Center drive exit. Turn Left (south) and cross under the freeway to the trailhead parking lot, immediately to the left.
