$18,000 Grant from the Whitecap Foundation!
Reading to Kids is delighted to announce its most recently received grant: the Whitecap Foundation, one of our longstanding supporters, has donated $18,000 to Reading to Kids to support our programming in 2004-2005! This donation is among the largest we have ever received!
The Whitecap Foundation, founded in 1990, seeks to improve the quality of life in the Los Angeles region by supporting neighborhood-focused organizations that address family needs. The Whitecap Foundation is unique among foundations in its long-term commitment to its grantee organizations and its emphasis on capacity-building. We are so pleased to have their support!
Wonder of Reading at Langdon Elementary
The Wonder of Reading, an outstanding L.A.-based literacy organization and one of our allies in the community, is opening a brand new library at Langdon Elementary in North Hills.
Part of Wonder of Reading's program involves one-on-one weekday tutoring with children at participating schools for one hour each week. If you'd like to be involved with the Langdon Elementary Wonder of Reading program, please contact Connie Cross, Cindy Fagin, or Cindy McCutcheon at Langdon Elementary at (818) 892-0778.
Have a great week!
