Reading to Kids thanks the Whitecap Foundation for supporting our program.

"The Whitecap Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in the Los Angeles region by supporting neighborhood-focused organizations that address family needs. Whitecap's major areas of interest are:

• After-school, weekend and off-track education
• Family support, including parent education, job preparation, literacy and enrichment opportunites.

To accomplish our mission, Whitecap engages in a process that we call enhanced grantmaking. Through this process, we combine technical assistance and training with our programmatic grants. Enhanced grantmaking seeks to address challenges common to all grantees: leading and managing the organization, personnel issues, programs, financial planning, etc. We also encourage a networking community among our grantees for the purpose of sharing information and expertise."
