Alta Loma Elementary School

Directions from the East 10 Freeway:
Take the La Brea Avenue exit (Exit 8). Keep left at the fork, and merge onto La Brea Ave. Turn right at Washington Blvd. Turn left at Vineyard Ave.  After three blocks on Vineyard, you will see the school on your left.  Turn left onto Saturn St. and look for the entrance to one of two school parking lots on the left.  If the parking lots are full by the time you arrive, please park on the street.  From the parking lots, follow the signs past the auditorium and into the school's main building to the Library, which is next to Room 3.  

Directions from the West 10 Freeway:
Take the Crenshaw Blvd. exit and turn right to head north on Crenshaw. Turn left on Washington Blvd. Turn right on Vineyard Ave. After three blocks on Vineyard, you will see the school on your left.  Turn left onto Saturn St. and look for the entrance to one of two school parking lots on the left.  If the parking lots are full by the time you arrive, please park on the street.  From the parking lots, follow the signs past the auditorium and into the school's main building to the Library, which is next to Room 3.

Directions from the North 110 Freeway:
Take the 9th Street exit towards Downtown L.A. As you exit the freeway, get in the left lane, and take an immediate left onto Francisco Street (the first light). Turn left at the dead end on 8th Street (away from Downtown L.A.). Go west on 8th Street, until you get to Union Street. Turn right on Union Street for 1 1/2 blocks (past 7th Street but before Wilshire Blvd.). You will see Esperanza Elementary School to your left. Turn left into the parking lot halfway up the block (before you get to Wilshire Blvd.). The address for the parking lot is 679 S. Union Ave. The entrance to the auditorium is at the end of the parking lot.

Directions from the South 110 Freeway:
Take the Wilshire Blvd. exit and turn right on Wilshire away from Downtown L.A. Go west on Wilshire Blvd., passing Lucas Avenue, until you get to Union Street. Turn left on Union, and go halfway down the block to Ingraham. Turn right on Ingraham (between Wilshire and 7th), into the school parking lot (parking lot address is 679 S. Union Ave.). The entrance to the auditorium is at the end of the parking lot.

Gratts Elementary School

Parking is in their underground parking garage beneath the playground. The entrance is 328 Witmer St., LA, CA 90017, on the west side of the campus and just south of W. 3rd St.

Those walking or taking public transportation, look for an unlocked gate up the sidewalk to the right of the parking lot entrance, near the Multipurpose Building, which is their auditorium.)

Take the Alvarado St. exit and follow the signs to go south on Alvarado. Continue on Alvarado until you see 7th St. Turn right onto 7th and go two lights to S. Grand View St. The elementary school is on the corner of 7th St. and S. Grand View St. Turn left onto S. Grand View St. The entrance to the parking garage is on the right, past the front entrance of the school and between two round mirrors overhead. Turn right down the sloped driveway and park in the "Staff Parking" lot beneath the school. Follow the signs to the stairs or elevator to go up one floor to the school. Follow the signs to the auditorium.

Magnolia Elementary School

Directions from the 10 Freeway:
Take the Vermont Ave. exit and go north. Pass Washington Blvd. and turn right on Venice Blvd. At the intersection of Venice and Orchard you'll see Magnolia Elementary School to your right. Keep driving on Venice Blvd. one more block and then turn right on Magnolia Ave. Immediately to your right you will see the school playground and the upper parking lot. The school may also allow you to park on the playground, which you access driving slowly through the upper parking lot.  If you can park in the upper parking lot or playground, once parked you follow the signs to the auditorium, which is through the gate and on the left, next to the lunch tables. If that upper parking lot is full and cars are not allowed to park on the playground, then continue on Magnolia for approximately 500 feet, until you see the entrance to the school's lower parking lot and structure on the right (lower parking lot address is 1695 S. Magnolia Ave.).  Park in the lower parking lot or structure and follow the stairs all the way up to the auditorium.  

Directions from the North 110 Freeway:
Take the Adams Blvd. exit and turn left. Turn right on Hoover St and then left on Washington Blvd. Go two blocks and turn right on Magnolia Ave. As you drive up Magnolia you will see Magnolia Elementary School to your left.   Approximately a quarter of a mile up Magnolia Ave., you will see the entrance to the school's lower parking lot and parking structure (lower parking lot address is 1695 S. Park in the lower parking lot or structure and follow the stairs all the way up to the auditorium, which is next to the lunch tables.  If that lower parking lot is locked or full, continue up Magnolia Ave. to the upper parking lot that is on your left at the corner of Venice Blvd. and Magnolia Ave. The school may also allow you to park on the playground, which you access driving slowly through the upper parking lot. Politi Elementary School

Take the Vermont Ave. exit and go north. Pass Pico Blvd. and turn right on West 11th St. At the intersection of 11th and Magnolia you'll see Leo Politi Elementary School to your left. After you pass the main entrance you will see the entrance to the parking lot. From the parking lot, go through the gate towards the main entrance of the building. You will walk through a hallway into a courtyard. Take a right and walk across the courtyard to enter the auditorium.

Directions from the North 110 Freeway:

Directions from the South 110 Freeway:
Take the 8th Street exit and turn right (away from Downtown Los Angeles). Turn left on Hoover St and take a right on Olympic Blvd.  Continue for half a block and turn left on Arapahoe.  Take a right on West 11th St. The parking lot to the elementary school is on your right.  From the parking lot, go through the gate towards the main entrance of the building. You will walk through a hallway into a courtyard. Take a right and walk across the courtyard to enter the auditorium.

Directions from the 101 Freeway:
Take the Alvarado St. exit south to Olympic Blvd.  Turn right on Olympic Blvd and proceed past Hoover Blvd.  Continue for half a block after you pass Hoover Blvd. and turn left on Arapahoe.  Take a right on West 11th St. and the parking lot to the elementary school is on your right. From the parking lot, go through the gate towards the main entrance of the building. You will walk through a hallway into a courtyard. Take a right and walk across the courtyard to enter the auditorium.

Tenth St. Elementary School

Directions from the 10 Freeway:
Take exit 12 towards Vermont Ave. / Hoover Street to exit at Hoover Street. At the lights, turn right onto S. Hoover Street. Get into the left lane immediately to turn left onto W. 22nd Street. At the stop sign, turn left onto S. Union Ave. After about a mile, turn right onto W. Olympic Blvd. Stay in the right lane to take the first right onto Grattan Street. The parking lot is straight ahead, though if it is full, then turn down the ramp on the right to the underground parking lot. Once parked, follow the signs to the auditorium, which is through the gate next to the lunch tables, then turn left; or go though the gate next to the outside of the auditorium, with the auditorium door open on the left towards the end.

Directions from the North 110 Freeway:
On the North 110 Freeway, use the right lanes to head towards the Downtown exits. Take exit 22 toward James M. Wood Bl. / 9th Street. Head down the left lane of the freeway ramp. At the first light, turn left onto Francisco Street. At the next light, turn left onto W. 8th Street. Turn left onto Witmer Street. At the stop sign, turn right onto James M. Wood Blvd. At the next stop sign, turn left onto Valencia Street. At the lights, turn right onto W. Olympic Blvd. and merge into the left lane, taking the next left at Grattan Street. The parking lot is straight ahead, though if it is full, then turn down the ramp on the right to the underground parking lot. Once parked, follow the signs to the auditorium, which is through the gate next to the lunch tables, then turn left; or go though the gate next to the outside of the auditorium, with the auditorium door open on the left towards the end.

Directions from the South 110 Freeway:
Take exit 22A toward Olympic Blvd. As you exit the freeway, get in the middle lane, and turn right at the first light onto Blaine St. At the next light, turn left onto W. Olympic Blvd. Go West on W. Olympic Blvd for 2 1/2 blocks. After the lights at Valencia St., turn left onto Grattan Street. The parking lot is straight ahead, though if it is full, then turn down the ramp on the right to the underground parking lot. Once parked, follow the signs to the auditorium, which is through the gate next to the lunch tables, then turn left; or go though the gate next to the outside of the auditorium, with the auditorium door open on the left towards the end.

White Elementary School
2401 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90057
 (Parking lot is located on 611 S. Carondelet St. between Wilshire Blvd. and 6th St.)

*NOTE:  You will be parking for free in a public parking structure across the street from the elementary school. Take a parking stub from the machine when you enter. After you check in with our Site Coordinators in the multi-purpose room on campus, they or a school staff member will have a parking validation stamp to stamp your parking stub. After the reading clubs you would then present that validated parking stub to the parking attendant when you drive away.
