READERS NEEDED FOR NOVEMBER 14TH READING CLUBS
Our November 14th "Journeys & Adventures" reading clubs are filling up nicely, though we still have room for 18 more volunteers to join us that morning! Submit your RSVP at www.readingtokids.org and don't miss the boat!
Then, "join" the
November 14th reading club event on
Facebook and invite your friends!
(Volunteers from LMU showing their college spirit at Politi. Click on the above image to see it full size)
November is our college spirit month,
so dig out your college sweatshirts and ball caps to
wear that morning as we see which college shows the most spirit!
Note about MacArthur Park Elementary:
They still have an interim principal, so for now we have closed the RSVPs for MacArthur Park. We will email all recent MacArthur Park Elementary volunteers if we get to open the RSVPs for the Nov. 14th clubs.
For our November 14th reading clubs
we encourage you to volunteer at any of Reading to Kids'
other schools! For a map of all of our school sites,
HELP US EXPAND TO TWO NEW SCHOOLS ON NOV. 14TH!
Last week we announced we will begin reading at
two new partner schools, Commonwealth Avenue Elementary and Wilshire Park Elementary, at our November 14th reading clubs!
Click the above links to see where each school is located near our other partner schools (you may have to refresh your web browser to see the updated map that includes them).
This is the first time we are opening two new schools in the same month! Please help inspire students at Commonwealth and Wilshire Park with a love of reading by signing up to volunteer for this momentous occasion! This is your chance to be at a first reading club at one of our schools!
More experienced volunteers wanted at Wilshire Park: We have a large number of first-time volunteers with us already signed up for Wilshire Park Elementary.
Thus, we are looking for a few of them to switch to one of our other schools, and a few of our experienced volunteers to go to Wilshire Park on Nov. 14th.
If you are already signed up for another school for November 14th and you want to switch to Wilshire Park Elem. (or Commonwealth), please contact us at
info@readingtokids.org.
For each new school we will also need a coffee pot that can brew at least 20 cups of coffee at a time. If you can donate one, please let us know!

13 MORE RUNNERS NEEDED FOR THE 2027 LA MARATHON, 13.1 MILE CHARITY HALF MARATHON, OR LA 5K!
Do you know any runners? Are you a
runner? Please forward this email to them
and ask them to join
Team Reading to Kids in the 2027 Los
Angeles Marathon or 13.1 Mile Charity Half Marathon on Sunday,
March 7th!
This is our 14th time running the marathon, and we're looking for seven more Charity Half Marathon runners (the last 13.1 miles of the course) and three more full marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.
If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the LA 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 6th. We have three more 5K spots left!
If you or a runner you know is interested in
becoming one of our fundraising runners or
creating a fundraising team, please email
Chris Martin at
marathon@readingtokids.org!
IMPORTANT NOTE: To register to run
on behalf of Reading to Kids, you
MUST receive from us a special web address
to use when registering on the Los Angeles Marathon website.
