Please be sure to sign up for the next reading clubs!
Click here to submit your RSVP for our "Magic & Monsters" reading
clubs on October 10th.
Our October reading clubs are even more popular than September,
so we'll need even more volunteers. Please be sure to tell everyone you know about your favorite volunteer opportunity!
On October 10th we'll also have magicians performing at each of our schools! And as usual, volunteers are encouraged to wear kid-friendly costumes!

We will need many more volunteers for these October reading clubs, so please sign up early and recruit your friends, co-workers, and family members as volunteers!
Note about MacArthur Park Elementary:
They still have an interim principal, so for now we have closed the RSVPs for MacArthur Park. We will email all recent MacArthur Park Elementary volunteers if we get to open the RSVPs for the Oct. 10th clubs.
For our
October 10th reading clubs
we encourage you to volunteer at any of
Reading to Kids'
other schools! For a map of all of our school sites,
Note about October 10th volunteer spots: We hope to be able to open more spots at some schools as we determine if we can expect more kids to join us that morning.
Thus, if you find your school already filled this week, please sign up for any of our other schools, or keep checking back to see if we have opened new spots at your preferred school.
THANK YOU, DAVID, JANET, NINA, & KIARRA!
MORE OPERATIONS VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED OCT. 10TH

(Click on the above image to see it full size)
We had some really large Milestones on Saturday at Esperanza Elementary! David Rickard received his 290th reading club milestone certificate!
Also receiving her 160th milestone certificate that morning was Site Coordinator Janet Webb, pictured above with Nina Maxey (50 reading clubs) and 5th grade GLC Kiarra Dikes (10 reading clubs)!
BE LIKE JANET & KIARRA!
We urgently need experienced volunteers to take on more leadership with us by
checking in volunteers as they arrive, helping train new and returning volunteers, being a GLC, or especially being a second or third Site Coordinator
at any of our schools.
If you can help in any of those roles, please e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to help
create wonderful reading clubs!

autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!
If you work at or have a connection with products or services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation to our events.
You may have gift cards you haven't used which would make excellent prizes if you'd like to donate them to us! E-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to arrange mailing them to us!

HELP US FIND GRANTS!
Did you know Reading to Kids receives about half of our funding from corporate and foundation grants? For example, over the last five years alone seven of our volunteers helped us receive nearly $170,000 in grants from their employers!
Please check to see if your employer offers grants that Reading to Kids can apply to and let us know at info@readingtokids.org!
You may help us buy thousands of books for kids!
