April features our "The Wonders of Science & Technology" reading clubs on April 11th! stars icon

All of our volunteer spots are probably full, but since people's plans change and they realize they need to cancel, please keep checking www.readingtokids.org over the next two weeks for any cancellations!

(If you are signed up for the April 11th reading clubs but can't join us, please cancel your RSVP now so that another volunteer can take your place.)

Experienced volunteers only:

We have so many new volunteers at MacArthur Park Elementary this month that we need two more experienced volunteers to read to 5th graders there, one as the GLC!

If you have volunteered with us at least three times recently and are willing to be the GLC there on April 11th, email us at info@readingtokids.org and we will add in your RSVP!

For that morning we're also looking for those willing to be the:

- Training Coordinator at any school
- Check-in Helper at Mac. Park, Magnolia, Politi, or White
- Site Operations Helper at 8am at any school - your Site Coordinators always welcome help!

READING TO KIDS AMBASSADORS
NEEDED NEXT THURSDAY OR FRIDAY!

Next Thursday or Friday for an hour or two between 7:30am and 2:30pm, we need your help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs and/or passing out flyers to encourage kids to come to our April 11th reading clubs.

We are especially looking for volunteers available from about 1:15 - 2:45 next Thursday or Friday, April 9th or 10th. calendar icon

It's a rewarding experience and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to info@readingtokids.org or call the office at (310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador for an hour or two!

This year's Festival of Books will take place April 18-19 on the University of Southern California campus. Please join us in our booth to share your enthusiasm and Reading to Kids knowledge with other book lovers!

FOUR MORE COMPUTERS OR TABLETS WANTED
TO GIVE TO KIDS APRIL 11TH!

At our April 11th reading clubs we would love to give away a computer or iPad/tablet to one lucky kid at each school!

If you or your employer have any working computers that are less than 6 years old running Windows 10 or later, or any Macintosh computers less than 7 years old, or any iPads or similar tablets, we can give them to deserving kids!

We especially need working computers (CPUs), whether or not they come with monitors, keyboards, etc. Please email us at info@readingtokids.org to help make a kid very happy!

Our next Legendary Bingo fundraisers at Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood will be on May 20th and in the fall! Please help us gather prizes for auctions and bingo winners that night!

To help you get started, here is information about Reading to Kids to share with potential donors, as well as a donation form for them to complete.

We especially enjoy awarding gift certificates, amusement park and theater tickets, gift bags, and autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!

If you work at or have a connection with products or services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation to our events.

You may have gift cards you haven't used which would make excellent prizes if you'd like to donate them to us! E-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to arrange mailing them to us!

We thank the 316 individual donors so far who have donated to our 2026 Team Reading to Kids marathon, half-marathon, and 5K runners! If you haven't yet, please help them push towards their goal of raising $20,000 for us!

Our runners already did the hard part, now it's up to you to donate and help them reach the fundraising finish line! They are only $21 from reaching $18,500, and every dollar supports our efforts to inspire kids with a love of reading.
