THANK YOU NBC4, TELEMUNDO 52,
& COMCAST NBCUNIVERSAL!

Ralphs

We are proud to announce that Reading to Kids is a winner of a 2025 NBCUniversal Local Impact Grant in the amount of $26,136!

In Southern California, NBC4, Telemundo 52, and Comcast NBCUniversal awarded $227,272 to five local nonprofit organizations, and Reading to Kids is one of them! Nationally, 2025 NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants are providing $2.5 million in funds to 69 nonprofits. Read more here.

By winning this competitive grant, we hope to continue driving impact in our community. Grant programs like this help us achieve our mission of inspiring underserved children with a love of reading, thereby enriching their lives and opportunities for future success.

This grant is more than an award to our program - it is a celebration of our mission, and we are very happy to continue sharing your love of reading to the children of our partner schools!

We also thank long-time White Elementary School volunteer Haley Stoessl, who informed us of this grant offered by her employer!

Perhaps your employer has grants you can help us earn – just let us know!

SEVEN MORE RUNNERS NEEDED
FOR THE 2026 LA MARATHON,
13.1 MILE CHARITY HALF MARATHON,
OR LA 5K!

Do you know any runners? Are you a runner? Please forward this email to them and ask them to join Team Reading to Kids in the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon or 13.1 Mile Charity Half Marathon on Sunday, March 8th!

Team Reading to Kids logo

This is our 12th time running the marathon, and we're looking for seven Charity Half Marathon runners (the last 13.1 miles of the course) and more full marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.

If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the LA 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 7th.

If you or a runner you know is interested in becoming one of our fundraising runners or creating a fundraising team, please email Chris Martin at marathon@readingtokids.org!

IMPORTANT NOTE: To register to run on behalf of Reading to Kids, you MUST receive from us a special web address to use when registering on the Los Angeles Marathon website.
