Whoa, we asked and you answered - our September 13th "Arts & Creativity" reading clubs filled up early, thank you so much!
We know that people's plans change, though, so please keep checking our website over the next two weeks for any cancellations!
(If you signed up for the reading clubs but can't join us,
please
cancel your RSVP now so that another volunteer can read with us.)
Attention experienced volunteers: we're now looking for those willing to be Training Coordinators, Check-In Helpers, Grade Level Coordinators, & Site Operations Helpers for these next reading clubs.
You can read about those roles here and email info@readingtokids.org if you want to help in any, even if your school is full!
Or, if you want to help in other ways (Curriculum, Marketing, etc.), and have volunteered with us three or more times,
consider
joining our
Taskforce.

WANTED FOR 2026
We gave so many school supplies to each kid who attended our August reading clubs that we need to re-stock for next August!

READING TO KIDS AMBASSADORS
NEEDED TODAY (AND ONWARDS)
TO PROMOTE US FOR
THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
With the 2025-26 school year now in full swing, we have many opportunities for you to help us promote Reading to Kids at our partner schools as a Reading to Kids Ambassador.
There are two unique ways you can help:
-
Back-to-School Nights (Esperanza, Mac. Park, & White this afternoon, Politi next Thur. 9/8!)
-
Classroom Walk-Throughs the week of Sept. 8th
We'll supply everything you need, including what to say at the Back-to-School Nights and classroom walk-throughs. Although it's great if you can speak Spanish (even a little), all our parent materials are bilingual and there's always someone who can translate for you at the school.
During the week of September 8th we need ambassadors to visit any of our schools for an
hour during the school day to visit each classroom to encourage kids to come to the September 13th
reading clubs held on their campuses.
Our Ambassadors always have a great time with the
kids and parents - come find out why!
If you have volunteered as a reader with us before and are interested in being an Ambassador, please e-mail us at
info@readingtokids.org or call (310) 479-7455.

If you or someone you know possesses the powers of magic and illusion, please contact us at
info@readingtokids.org as we are looking for more magicians!

SEVEN MORE RUNNERS NEEDED
FOR THE 2026 LA MARATHON,
13.1 MILE CHARITY CHALLENGE,
OR LA 5K!
Do you know any runners? Are you a
runner? Please forward this email to them
and ask them to join
Team Reading to Kids in the 2026 Los
Angeles Marathon or 13.1 Mile Charity Challenge on Sunday,
March 8th!
This is our 12th time running the marathon, and we're looking for seven Charity Challenge runners (the last 13.1 miles of the course) and more full marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.
If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the LA 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 7th.
If you or a runner you know is interested in
becoming one of our fundraising runners or
creating a fundraising team, please email
Chris Martin at
marathon@readingtokids.org!
IMPORTANT NOTE: To register to run
on behalf of Reading to Kids, you
MUST receive from us a special web address
to use when registering on the Los Angeles Marathon website.
