Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Our July 12th reading clubs are 10 days away and are probably already full, though please keep checking our website this week and next week for any recent cancellations!
(If you signed up for the reading clubs but can't join us,
please
cancel your RSVP now so that another volunteer can read with us.)
We especially need more of our experienced volunteers to help as Training Coordinators, Check-In Helpers, & Site Operations Helpers.
These July reading clubs are much smaller because the schools are in the middle of their summer break and Alta Loma and Tenth St. Elementary are closed for July.
Mark your calendars for August 9th as we keep students enjoying books throughout the summer!

Our summer reading clubs such as July 12th are the perfect time for those who have volunteered with us a few times recently to step into and learn any of our important Operations roles - all training very pleasantly provided!
We can't guarantee you'll get to read that Saturday, but please e-mail us at
info@readingtokids.org if you can volunteer for any of the following roles:
- Volunteer Training Coordinators at Esperanza, Mac. Park, Magnolia, or Politi
- Check-in Helper at Gratts, Magnolia, or White
- Site Operations Helper at any school - discover the joy of being a Site Coordinator!
If your school is full and you are an experienced volunteer with us, let us know if you can fill any of the above roles and we'll respond about adding in your RSVP.
SCHOOL AMBASSADORS WANTED
NEXT THURSDAY OR FRIDAY!
Next Thursday or Friday for an hour we need your
help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs and/or passing out flyers to encourage kids to come to
our July 12th reading clubs.
We are especially looking for volunteers available from about 11:45 - 12:45 next Thursday or Friday, July 10th or 11th.
It's an exciting experience and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to

(310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador for an hour next week!

HELP US FIND GRANTS!
Did you know Reading to Kids receives about
half of our funding from corporate and foundation
grants? For example, over the last five years alone
seven of our volunteers helped us receive $145,000 in
grants from their employers!
Please check to see if your employer offers grants
that Reading to Kids can apply to and let us know at
info@readingtokids.org!
You may help us buy thousands of books for kids!

3 COMPUTERS OR TABLETS
WANTED TO GIVE TO KIDS!
We would love to give away a computer or iPad/tablet to one lucky kid at each school, but we need three more of them to make that happen!
If you or your employer have any working computers that are less than 6 years old running Windows 10 or later, or any Macintosh computers less than 7 years old, or any iPads or similar tablets, we can give them to deserving kids!
We especially need working computers (CPUs), whether or not they come with monitors, keyboards, etc. Please email us at
info@readingtokids.org to help make a kid very happy!
