Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Reading to Kids Instagram photo

This Saturday's "Halloween, Magic, & Monsters" reading clubs are lurking just around the corner, and we probably need a couple more experienced readers!

Please keep checking our website for openings today and tomorrow until 3pm, since we always have a few cancelations the days before each reading club.

(If you have signed up and can't make it after all, please cancel your RSVP online immediately to make room for another volunteer.)

TWO EXPERIENCED READERS,
OPERATIONS VOLUNTEER
NEEDED THIS SATURDAY

Have you volunteered with us a few times recently? Then this Saturday would be a great time to step into any of our vital Operations roles - all training very pleasantly provided!

Please e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org if you can volunteer for any of the following roles this Saturday (even if your school is full):

- Experienced reader at Gratts, willing to read to any grade
- GLC at Alta Loma (5th)

We'll also have a magician performing at each school this Saturday morning!

Magician Brad Erickson performing at Gratts Elementary

If you are joining us, feel free to dress up in school-appropriate Halloween costumes that morning, too!

READING TO KIDS AMBASSADORS
WANTED TOMORROW!

Sample flyers

Tomorrow for an hour or two between 7:30am and 2:30pm, we need your help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs to encourage kids to come to this Saturday's reading clubs.

We are especially looking for volunteers who can pass out flyers to parents before schools begins at 7:30am or when school lets out at around 2:15pm tomorrow.

This can be a lot of fun and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to info@readingtokids.org or call the office at (310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador for an hour or two!

FIVE MORE RUNNERS NEEDED
FOR THE 2025 LA MARATHON,
13.1 MILE CHARITY CHALLENGE,
OR LA 5K!

Do you know any runners? Are you a runner? Please forward this email to them and ask them to join Team Reading to Kids in the 2025 Los Angeles Marathon or 13.1 Mile Charity Challenge on Sunday, March 16th!

Team Reading to Kids logo

This is our 11th time running the marathon, and we're looking for five Charity Challenge runners (the last 13.1 miles of the course) and more full marathon runners to join us in one of the best marathons in the country.

If either of those distances is too daunting, you can join us in the LA 5K (that's just 3.1 miles) near Dodger Stadium the day before the marathon on Saturday, March 15.

If you or a runner you know is interested in becoming one of our fundraising runners or creating a fundraising team, please email Chris Martin at marathon@readingtokids.org!

IMPORTANT NOTE: To register to run on behalf of Reading to Kids, you MUST receive from us a special web address to use when registering on the Los Angeles Marathon website.
