Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
Last Saturday we had a wonderful time as 423 kids, 208 volunteers,
29 parents, and 21 teachers & staff
helped to make our April 13th reading clubs a success!
Below is a sample of the bubble gum craft Kindergartners created after hearing Pop!: The Invention of Bubble Gum.

LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS

The Festival of Books is this weekend, April 20-21, on the University of Southern California campus.

25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
& CASINO NIGHT ON MAY 11TH!
Reading to Kids turns 25 years old at our May 11th reading clubs, and tickets are available for our celebration event that evening!

Our party is French Quarter / Mardi Gras / New Orleans themed as we enjoy casino table games at the beautiful
Historic Woman's Club in Santa Monica!
We'll have New Orleans-style food, raffle prizes and packages to win, a live DJ, a 360° camera photo booth, and casino table games to play for fun and raffle tickets! Each ticket includes $100 in gaming chips!
Enjoy Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Poker, delicious food & drinks, and an opportunity to socialize with your fellow Reading to Kids volunteer and supporters!
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Tickets are $40 online before 2pm on 5/11/24, $45 at the door while tickets last. ****Guests must be 18 and over.****
25TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
If $40 is a little pricey or you just like to help, we also need another 10 volunteers for the following roles:
Catering volunteer helpers
Set-up assistants
Bartending volunteer helpers
Attendee Check-in Helpers
Raffle Tickets Managers
Take-down assistants

RAFFLE ITEMS & BINGO PRIZES
Our next fundraising events will be on May 11th and on October 2nd, so we need your help gathering more prizes for raffles, silent auctions, and bingo winners!
To help you get started, here is information about Reading to Kids to share with potential donors, as well as a donation form for them to complete.
We especially enjoy awarding gift certificates,
amusement park and theater tickets, gift bags, and
autographed items! Anything unique is great, too!
If you work at or have a connection with products or services to offer, please help us by asking for a donation to our events.
You may have gift cards you haven't used which would make excellent prizes if you'd like to donate them to us! E-mail us at info@readingtokids.org to arrange mailing them to us!
