Thanks to our fantastic volunteers, the July 13th "Independence and Growing Up" Reading Clubs went off like firecrackers! We had 302 students, 164 volunteers, 56 parents, and 22 teachers and staff in attendance!

The August 10th "Lights! Cameras! Action!" Reading Clubs are filling up quickly. Make sure you're "cast" in our next reading clubs by signing up now.

After you sign up, please visit our Facebook event so that your friends will see that you're attending and you can invite others to join you!

Next Thursday, July 25, Adecco is hosting two walk/runs to benefit Reading to Kids, and you are invited to participate!

• Walk/Run #1: meet at 8:30am at Griffith Park - Shane's Inspiration Playground.  The short walk is one loop (3 miles) and the long walk is two loops (6 miles).
• Walk/Run #2: meet at 3:30pm at the Trader Joe's in Redondo Beach for easy parking and we will walk on the beach. Short walk up to the Redondo Beach Pier is 3 miles and the long walk to the Hermosa Pier is 8 miles round trip.

You can choose to walk/run either or both.  To register, go to the Win4Youth Run4One website. On the registration page you want to choose "Los Angeles" as the Event City. We are an "Adecco Group Client", our company name is "Reading to Kids", and list the Reading to Kids office address and phone number if asked for an office address.

If you register now they will have a t-shirt ready for you at the event. If you have any questions, please reply to this email and we will forward to you the Adecco contact person's information.

Participants will raise $1 for every mile walked, and the money will be donated to Reading to Kids!

We would like to thank the Employees Charity Organization of Northrop Grumman for their continued support. The employees of Northop Grumman generously donated another $1,365 to support our monthly reading clubs, which will go to supporting all elements of our reading clubs, including books and crafts supplies!
