Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
This month we'll be "California Dreamin'" at our reading clubs. This new theme celebrates our great state with fun, fabulous, and fascinating stories about California
and the people who live here. We have a few spots available, so
RSVP now!

Thirteen years ago Reading to Kids began with just 8 volunteers
and 20 kids at Gratts Elementary. Since 1999 we've welcomed
13,557 volunteers and given 105,657 prize books to children who attend the reading clubs. It's been quite a journey, and thank you everyone who has come along for the ride!

Saturday, May 12 - Crosswords LA - On the same day
as our May reading clubs, we'll
be helping out at the
Crosswords LA
tournament (on the LMU campus), which benefits Reading to Kids. Respond to this email if you're interested in volunteering for all or part of the day.

May 17, Adecco Bike Ride - Adecco is again hosting a
bike ride to benefit Reading to Kids. It starts at 9am in
Redondo Beach, and there are two courses (14 mile and 42 mile). If you're interested
in riding, please respond to this email, and we'll forward all
the details.
Friday, May 18, Golf Tournament -
Our annual
Reading to Kids Golf Classic
tees off at
the beautiful
Los Verdes Golf Course
in Rancho Palos Verdes. Registration is only $130 and
includes greens fees, cart, lunch, and snacks. This is a fun tournament for every player, whether you're a duffer or a scratch golfer!
