Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,
At the June reading clubs our super volunteers will be reading books about Cesar Chavez, Jane Goodall, Sonia Sotomayor, and lots of other "Super Heroes and Super People." There are still a few volunteer slots available, so please
RSVP now!
This
is also the perfect time to celebrate all the super principals,
teachers and administrators at our partner schools. They truly are unsung heroes.

BARNES & NOBLE BOOKFAIR
AND READATHON
Check your summer book wish list, because in 16 days it's time to buy! Purchase books at any Barnes & Noble store on Saturday June 18th
through Thursday June 23rd and a percentage of all sales go to Reading to Kids.

We'll also be celebrating this Bookfair with a Readathon on Saturday, June 18th at
Barnes & Nobles in
Manhattan Beach. Gerry Renert, author of
Nathan Saves Summer will read his book at 11am and then Reading to Kids volunteers will read books
full of summertime fun until 3pm! Enjoy a refreshment --
your purchases in the cafe also count!

SILENT AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED!
On
Wednesday, July 20th we invite everyone to the
Improv in Hollywood
for dinner and a fabulous comedy show. The evening kicks off with a Silent Auction benefiting Reading to Kids.
Please respond to this email if you can help us secure auction
donations -- dinners, tickets, gifts... you name it, we'll
auction it!
The festivities begin at 6pm, and tickets will be on sale next week!
