Weekly Update
August 20, 2009

Dear Friends of Reading to Kids,

Our vocabulary word of the week is transition. There are a lot of changes taking place all over. We are all so sad to see Jessica leave but wish her well as she goes off on a new adventure. Schools are back in session after a sunny summer break while some kids are growing restless as they are about to head off track.

Over at the Reading to Kids office, the transition is inspiring us! We anticipate a big turnout at next month's reading clubs and we thought we would celebrate all the enthusiasm of our volunteers. Check out the great social events listed below. We can't wait to see you there!

 MORE S'MORES PLEASE

We have detected a chill in the air and that calls for one thing only...a bonfire at Dockweiler Beach!

On Sunday September 20th from 3-8 PM, the Reading to Kids gang will be hanging out at the beach, playing games and lighting up the grill. And we certainly hope you will join us!

Dockweiler Beach is located at 12000 Vista Del Mar in Playa Del Rey.

We will be supplying the essentials: firewood, bottled water and of course s'mores. Please feel free to bring food, drinks and your friends and family. However, pets are not allowed on the beach.

To RSVP and for much more information, click here: www.evite.com/pages/invite/viewInvite.jsp
