Program Director Position Available

Reading to Kids is seeking a full-time Program Director. As the sole paid employee, the Program Director will have a unique opportunity to further develop a nonprofit that is entering its fifth year.

The Program Director will perform a variety of functions, including fundraising, coordinating our volunteers, and working with local schools. In the area of fundraising, the Program Director will research potential opportunities with foundations, corporations, and individuals.

Qualifications for the position include a minimum of a B.A./B.S. degree, outstanding written and oral communication skills, strong people skills, a keen attention to detail, an energetic personality, an enthusiasm for the benefits that our program offers, and a genuine motivation to work toward providing children with an enthusiasm for reading. Experience in the nonprofit sector with fundraising is preferred. A certain degree of computer experience will be necessary. Most importantly, this position offers the opportunity to help direct the growth of Reading to Kids and to bring the joy of reading to many more children in Los Angeles.

Starting salary will be between $35,000 and $40,000 plus benefits. The position will be available starting July 1, 2003.
