New Volunteer Record
Last Saturday, 186 volunteers participated in the reading clubs at Gratts
and Magnolia. That's a new record, people! And it is just in time for
our expansion to a third school, Esperanza Elementary, next month. We
will be needing even more of you next month, so please submit your RSVP
today. October's theme is, of course, "Halloween."
New Group: EIF Genesis
We had a large number of volunteers from a newly participating group,
Entertainment Industry Foundation Genesis. Thanks for the great
turnout!
One of their members, Sarah Warda, conducted a site visit on behalf of
the Entertainment Industry Foundation. We enjoyed showing her around, and
she is excited to volunteer with us. EIF will be letting us know if we
will receive a grant from them within a few weeks.
Annual Fund Drive Off to a Great Start
So far we have raised just over $3,000, so we are about one fourth of
the way to our goal of $12,500. I know we can do it!
Did you know that there are over 900 of you subscribed to our update
e-mails? If each of you gave just $10 (roughly three caf? lattes), we
would raise over $9,000!!! It really is true that every little bit
makes a difference. For more information on donating to
