In addition to the above Evite link for this event we also have a
Facebook event .
Located just east of downtown Burbank, the Stough Canyon hike is a great evening option (especially during a full moon). You’ll get sweeping views of the San Fernando Valley and the Verdugo Hills. The trail starts at the Stough Canyon Nature Center and will take you on a 2.4-mile hike with an elevation gain of 900 feet. Expect the adventure to take one to two hours.
We're meeting at the trailhead between 3:30 and 3:50, to head out PROMPTLY at 4pm. There should be plenty of parking at that hour, and we shan't be delaying our departure, as we aim to stop and catch the sun setting with an awesome view!
Dogs (on leash) are allowed, and feel free to invite friends & family. All are encouraged to dress for the early evening chill, with temperatures forecast to be around 68 degrees. Your hike leader will have flashlights and snacks for the excursion.
To get to the trailhead: Take the 5 Freeway to Exit 146B for Burbank Boulevard. At the end of the offramp, turn north on Burbank Blvd. and make the first left on San Fernando Boulevard. Make the next right on Delaware Road. Go north for two blocks, turn right on Glenoaks Boulevard, and make the next left onto Walnut Avenue Proceed two miles up Walnut Ave. and park near the cul-de-sac at the top of the road near the Stough Canyon Nature Center. The trail starts from the end of Walnut Avenue.
