The Improv! Hosts Second Annual

Reading to Kids benefit Comedy Night and Silent Auction

In keeping with its longstanding tradition of helping people do something good for the community while having a great time, Reading to Kids is holding its Second Annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction on Wednesday, May 24.  The event will be held at The Hollywood Improv! in Hollywood, CA (8162 Melrose Avenue), beginning at 6:30pm.  All proceeds from the event will support Reading to Kids.

“This was a really great event for us last year, and there was a lot of interest from the attendees to do it again this year” said Jessica Tritsch, program director, Reading to Kids.  “The people at the Hollywood Improv! have been so generous  – we’ll keep working with them as long as we can.”

The event boasts a strong list of increasingly influential comics, including Andy Kindler, Jackie Kashian, Tom Sharpe, Robb Fulcher and Ali Oktay, one of the creators of the event.

The Silent Auction begins at 6:30pm, with a list of impressive offerings, including a one-year membership to MOCA, two tickets to Six Flags’ Magic Mountain, two passes for the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues, a gift certificate to gourmet burger sensation The Counter, and much more.  The comics hit the stage at 8:00.

“We hope to raise a lot of money, have a lot of fun and share a lot of laughs,” said Oktay.  “And the two-drink minimum… that helps.”
