L.A. Works

Reading to Kids thanks the members of L.A. Works who volunteer at our reading clubs.

"LA Works was founded in 1991 by a group of concerned citizens from the Entertainment, Business and Government sectors to: increase volunteer participation in community service projects; provide community service organizations with access to volunteer labor and other resources; and educate and encourage people to engage in the broader social issues affecting the Los Angeles community. On a weekly basis, LA Works offers a variety of community service projects. LA Works' volunteers work hand-in-hand with hundred of nonprofit social service agencies throughout the city in order to improve the quality of life in our community. LA Works offers one-time as well as long-term projects. Volunteers can spend a morning painting a school or planting a community garden; or they can get make a 2-3 month commitment to tutor children in reading, writing and arithmetic."
