Discussion topics for before reading:
•  How are girls different than boys?
•  What are some girls' names?
•  What are some activities that girls do that boys don't do, if any, and vice versa. What are some activities that girls and boys do together?
•  Who are the ?girls? in your life?

Discussion topics for during/after reading:
•  What are the girls doing on each page? Have you done any of these activities? Are there any activities that you want to do?
•  What kinds of things do you see the women in your life doing? (ex. mom, aunt, sister)
•  What are the qualities that make a girl ?amazing?? For boys, what makes you ?amazing??
•  What do you want to be when you grow up?

Craft ideas:
•  Make a crown for a special ?woman.?
•  Make a medal for something that you think you deserve an award.
•  Draw a picture of you and all the women in your life.

Remember, though, that the focus of your time should not be on the development and execution of a craft; the focus should be on the read-aloud and the enjoyment of the book!
