Note to readers:
•  Hat-shup-set was a rare female pharaoh - be sure to read the last 4 pages in the book!
•  Explain that a pyramid wasn't just a burial place but held all the important things they needed in the next life and their favorite possessions.

Discussion topics for before reading:
•  What is a mummy? What is a pharaoh?

Vocabulary

*Note: These craft ideas are just suggestions. You can use them, but you don't have to use them. You can expand upon them, or add your own twist. Remember, though, that the focus of your time should not be on the development and execution of a craft; the focus should be on the read-aloud and the enjoyment of the book!
