Synopsis: Luna has always wanted to change the world - to fix it, to free it - even if she's never actually known how. Now that all of dragon and humankind are in mortal danger, Luna is flying back home to Pantala with a team of dragons on a rescue mission, determined to be brave and useful.

But saving a continent isn't as easy as a prophecy makes it sound, and "facing a great evil" definitely requires more than the fiery silk that Luna is uniquely able to create. As she fights her way to the abyss that hides the dark roots poisoning Pantala, Luna must uncover a long-buried secret and unite her friends, her enemies, and her own powers. If she doesn't, she won't get to change the world. She'll have to say goodbye to it - forever.

Note to readers:
•  This is the fifteenth installment in the Flames of Hope series. It follows Luna, a dragonet (young dragon) as she unravels the Lost Continent prophecy. Note: there are some concepts within the book that were introduced in earlier installments in the series that may be confusing for readers unfamilar with the previous books. Emphasize explanations of some of these concepts within the given context to help clarify the storyline.

Discussion topics for before reading:
•  This book discusses several different dragons and their special abilities. For example, LeafWings has the ability to absorb energy from sunlight and control plants. If you were one of these dragons, what ability would you like to have?
•  Besides dragons, what imaginary creature do you wish existed in real life?

Vocabulary:

•  ominous: suggesting that something bad is going to happen in the future; threatening
•  cryptic: having hidden meaning; mysterious
•  hypothetically: imagined or suggested but not necessarily real or true
•  blasphemous: profane speech or action concerning a sacred entity
•  gingerly: very cautious or careful
•  prophecy: a prediction of the future, made under divine inspiration

Discussion topics for during/after reading:
•  Did the characters seem believable to you? Did they remind you of anyone?
•  If you had to trade places with any character in the book, who would you choose & why?
•  (Pg. 8 Map) Are there any places from the book you'd like to visit?
