•  doomed: to be sure that something bad will happen
•  cover: to put something over; to hide

Discussion topics for during/after reading:
•  How do you think these animals became friends?
•  If you were an animal, what would you be?
•  If your best friend was an animal, what would they be?
•  Do you guys ever have too much fun with your best friends? What does that look like?

Craft ideas:
•  Using construction paper, cut out the children's favorite animals and glue them on Popsicle sticks for pretend play.
•  Have the children draw themselves with their best friend (possibly as other animals).
